SYNOPSIS

Main Courante is a 52' police series depicting a neighborhood police station in the suburbs of a large provincial city. It is a working-class suburb where small houses with vegetable gardens sit alongside a few large building complexes. No organized mafia, no serious crime, just the "ordinary" violence that occupies our cops’ everyday lives: fights that escalate, domestic disputes, neighborhood or family conflicts, pickpocketing, theft from construction sites, small-scale traffic, undeclared work... And all attempts at physical harm, from the simplest to the most serious: sometimes resulting in death. Through these various goings on, the series paints a picture of people’s lives when things take an unexpected turn - towards the comic, the tragic, the absurd...
